Supporting Pets Displaced by Hurricane Florence
Petcurean donates 2,000 pounds of food to a local shelter and retailer in need to support pets displaced by Hurricane Florence.
Chilliwack, B.C. (September 26, 2018) – Petcurean, a leading manufacturer of high quality, premium pet food has donated 1,000 pounds of pet food to the Greenville Humane Society, which took in more than 65 animals from other shelters and residents in South Carolina’s Low Country and other areas that needed to flee due to Hurricane Florence. Another 1,000 pounds of pet food has been donated to Naturally Unleashed, a pet specialty store in Fayetteville, N.C., which is working with its local Chamber of Commerce to donate pet food to many people in the area who are still unable to return home after the storm. Hurricane Florence caused major flooding, power outages and property damage in the Carolinas and Virginia after making landfall on September 14 and is one of the most devastating storms to hit the Atlantic coastline in recent years.
Due to the size and anticipated impact of the storm, weather officials placed more than one million people under evacuation orders. Unfortunately, as people left the area, many pets were left behind. Knowing that food is scarce, and pets are in need, Petcurean is donating food with help from one of its Pennsylvania distributors.
